Tiny and Tommy thanks for posting this video. I’ve been following Cap. Tommy’s trip throught the great lakes via this blog. These are my “home waters” (I’m from Green Bay area). I recently visited the Maritime museum in Sturgeon Bay, Wi and was amazed at the number of shipwrecks that happened in the lakes in the first few weeks of November.
I told my 5 year old son the story of the might fitz a year or two ago and he’s always playing the Edmund Fitzgerald in the bath tub, usually he doesn’t want it to sink though. Some times he pretends to be on the Authur M. Anderson, the ship that was following the EF, because he knows it didn’t sink. Thanks for this and all your website work. (My younger daughter plays along, but isn’t into it as much.)
Tommy your adventure is helping me envision my own future sail off. I won’t wish you the best of luck, just great weather and smart decisions.
Thank you Anna, I can not up date it as often as I would like. Internet access and my work load play a big part in it. The web site is still a work in progress and we haven’t got the bugs out of the map yet. Soon I hope though. Tommy
I was born just a few days (November 13) after the Edmund Fitzgerald sank and only a few miles away (Sault Ste. Marie). My dad says the storm that night knocked the power out. I’ve always felt a connection to it in some way…
